Research Profile

I have extensive experience successfully conducting randomized clinical controlled trials. I am Principal and Co-Principal Investigator for the University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine-Jacksonville site of the Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Group (AACTG), Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trials Group (PACTG), and International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Group (IMPAACT) studies, sponsored by National Institute of Health, 1994-Present. In addition, I have developed national and international clinical guidelines in conjunction with federal agencies. I served as a writing member, USPHS Task Force Recommendations for Use of Antiretroviral Agents during Pregnancy for Maternal Health and Reduction of Perinatal Transmission of HIV; Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Groups (ACTG) – Special Review Committee Member; and member of the Perinatal transmission Committee, Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trials Group (PACTG), Obstetrical Working Group of PACTG; and Women’s Health Committee, Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG). Member, Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council (OARAC), NIH, 2004-2007.
