Chief
Gynecologic cancer is a very personal and emotional medical condition that is feared by women. At the division of gynecologic oncology in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, we try to reduce that fear through diagnosis, education and treatment in a comfortable, therapeutic and emotionally supportive setting.
Patient Care
Our gynecologic oncologists are specially trained surgeons who provide outpatient diagnosis and inpatient treatment of pre-cancers and cancers of the female genital tract, as well as those related to pregnancy and the placenta. These cancers include ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, vaginal, tubal and trophoblastic cancers.
Our state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility allows us to provide excellent care and an expansive range of services including the use of radiation and chemotherapy.
We strongly believe in educating each patient on the type of cancer and treatment options available to her to ensure the patient may become as involved as she would like in her treatment plan.
Research
The division participates in several UF IRB-approved, pharmaceutical-sponsored clinical trials. Please contact us at 904-244-3854 for further information.
